For the 2022-23 School Year

[ 7TH and 12TH Grade Immunization Requirements ]

The following immunization requirements for 7th and 12th-grade students went into effect on July 1, 2021, and will impact requirements for the coming 2022-23 school year. Your student will not be allowed to attend school or issued school materials/items without the required immunization. 

7th-grade requirements:

  • Two doses of properly spaced human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines for males and females. The first dose shall be administered before the child enters the seventh grade. (A parent or guardian has the right to decide if a child receives the HPV vaccine.)
  • Two properly spaced doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY).
  • The first dose shall be administered prior to entry to the seventh grade.
  • A booster dose of the TDAP vaccine is required for entrance into seventh grade. (July 1, 2019)

12th-grade requirements:

  • Two properly spaced doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY). The second dose shall be administered prior to the entry to the twelfth grade

Parents/guardians must contact their student’s pediatrician or VDH for further guidance about specific immunization as required by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).

WELCOME-The Colonial Beach Public School System was established as an independent school division in 1907. It serves the residents of Colonial Beach, which is a small town of about 3,500 people located directly on the Potomac River. Our division has an elementary school for grades PK-7 and a high school for grades 8-12. Our small size provides a strong sense of community, with a total student population of approximately 620 students.
