Colonial Beach Public Schools Transportation Department

Our department provides transportation for all eligible students enrolled at Colonial Beach Public Schools. We provide home-to-school bus transportation for students, special transportation for our special needs students, transportation for school field trips, transportation for after school programs and transportation for school sporting events. Our fleet includes 11 school buses and 11 school vehicles. For the 2023-2024 school year, our transportation drove a total of approximately 194,000 miles in a safe and reliable manner.

Our mission is to provide safe and efficient transportation for all Colonial Beach Public Schools students.

Bus Stop Supervision

Parents of students in grades PK-2 must accompany students at the bus stop and be available to be seen by the bus driver prior to the bus dropping off the students.

Walking Zone

Colonial Beach Public Schools has a mandatory walking zone. Students in grades 6-12 must walk or ride bikes to school if they live between 6th street and Colonial Avenue (7-11 side only) and Route 205 to the Potomac River. Students in grades K-5 may not walk or ride bikes to school under any circumstances without permission by parents and approval by the elementary school administration.

PreK Student Transport

Students in the PreK program are provided transportation only within the town limits of Colonial Beach.
